Maria Kallman

A former US Team kayaker, Maria enjoys all aspects of being on the water, whether guiding trips for youth, teaching, participating in whitewater races, or running steep creeks. After starting her kayaking career at age 14, she traveled all over Europe during summers as a teenager to compete in slalom. She studied Human Physiology and Ecology at the University of Colorado, is a graduate of a National Outdoor Leadership School semester, and is a Wilderness EMT. Maria loves to take students to the rivers and mountains and help them make connections with the natural world. One of the best things about being a kayaker, Maria believes, is that from kayaks we acquire unique perspectives on and relationships with the earth.
